Just because we’re all stuck inside, doesn’t mean that we can’t have fun doing it. So here are the best activities to do inside this week:
Everyone has those movies that they know they have to see, but simply have never gotten around to it. I love movies, have seen more than the average person, and yet have never seen Shawshank Redemption. Insane right? Well, while I’m stuck inside, I’ll be sitting down to finally watch it and I can’t wait. Ask your family and friends for that movie they’ve never gotten around to and start checking them off your list!
The only time I can remember having to stay inside this much were the days following Hurricane Sandy where many of us on the East Coast lost power and had to stay inside with our family while we waited for the storm to clear. At that time, not only did we not have power, but we had few electronic devices to begin with anyways. And while you could scroll Twitter or Instagram this week, you should put them aside, I suggest doing what we did during that time; play board games! They can be long and pass the time incredibly well. Everyone has an unused collection of board games so crack ’em open and start playing!
Just because you’re stuck inside doesn’t mean you can’t be productive! It is spring cleaning after all, so get those brooms and mops out. You’ve got a whole family to make up your cleaning crew so put them to work! Take the time to get the spots you always neglect or even clean out the closet or drawers you usually stuff things inside of. When you’re finally able to have people over again, they’ll be amazed at how clean your place is!
Usually maintenance and DIY projects are reserved for those lazy Sundays where you have nothing better to do. Sometimes they get done, but most times it is pushed to the next Sunday. Well, now that you have an extended period of “lazy Sundays”, build that bird house you’ve been meaning to build! Give your living room a make-over! Or even make a sign or poster for your wall! Whatever it is, now’s the time to do it!
